WHO AM I?
My name is Sean Connelley. I currently work for the Los Angeles Times as a web developer.
Before joining the LA Times, I worked at The Oakland Tribune for six years. Starting out as a photojournalist, I moved into video journalism, before finally being handed the title of Senior Multimedia Producer. While there, I produced numerous award winning projects; some of which won the National Press Photographers Associations BOP 1st Place Honors for Best Multimedia Package (small-market) in 2005 and 2006. My projects also received national recognition from "Yahoo-Picks", Adobe "Site of the Day", Macromedia "Site of the Day" and a SNDies "Award of Excellence."
My last major project at the Tribune, Not Just a Number, a violence prevention community journalism project, was honored with NPPA's Best Multimedia Package as well as the ONA's Service Journalism award (small-sites) and the Knight Foundation's Knight Public Service Award at the 2007 Online Journalism Awards in Toronto, Canada.
Currently, I just finished working on a really cool project at the LA Times called Mexico Under Siege, a multi-faceted site exploring the drug war in Mexico.
